Where to equip your owned cosmetics

Equip Simon’s alternate outfit and your owned CRTV styles through Cosmetic Options when starting New Game, or through Options > Game Options during an existing playthrough. Simon’s alternate outfit requires the Digital Deluxe Edition, and bonus cosmetics must be owned and downloaded before they appear.

02

Check which cosmetic your purchase includes

Check the exact cosmetic name before changing your download settings. Simon’s outfit and the CRTV styles have different purchase requirements. Match the missing item to your edition and platform using the checklist below.

  • Simon’s Outfit: Alternate comes with the Digital Deluxe Edition. A Standard Edition pre-order does not include that outfit, so check for Deluxe ownership if the alternate clothing option is missing.
  • CRTV Style: Rusted is an early purchase or pre-order bonus for both editions. Check that your purchase includes this bonus before treating its absence as a download problem.
  • CRTV Style: Beach Edition is an early purchase or pre-order bonus exclusive to PlayStation 5. It does not appear on Steam or Epic, including with the Deluxe Edition.
  • The default outfit and Standard CRTV appearance are available to everyone. Choose either original look when you want to switch back from an owned bonus cosmetic.
03

Equip an outfit when starting New Game

  1. Choose New Game from the main menu to reach the Cosmetic Options screen before the game begins.
  2. Set CRTV Style to the owned appearance you want to use, choosing Standard if you prefer the original device.
  3. Set Simon’s Outfit to Alternate to select the Digital Deluxe clothing. If that choice is missing, use the ownership and download checks below before continuing.
  4. Confirm your cosmetic choices to begin the game with the appearances you selected.
04

Change your look during a playthrough

You can switch these cosmetics during a playthrough without restarting. Use the in-game options if you have already continued your save and want a different look. Simon’s Outfit and CRTV Style are separate settings, so change whichever appearance you want to replace.

  1. Pause your current game to access the menu used for changing options.
  2. Open Options to reach the settings menu for your current playthrough.
  3. Open Game Options to find the CRTV Style and Simon’s Outfit settings.
  4. Change CRTV Style or Simon’s Outfit to select the owned, downloaded appearance you want to use.
  5. Back out of the menu to apply the cosmetic change immediately and return to your playthrough.
05

What changes after you equip a cosmetic

Simon’s alternate outfit changes his clothes, while CRTV styles change the device’s look. These cosmetics do not change stats, combat, or puzzles. Pick whichever appearance you like without treating it as a gameplay upgrade.

Townfall is played in first person, so the CRTV style is easier to notice while the device is in your hands. Expect Simon’s alternate clothes to be most noticeable in cutscenes. Keep that difference in mind when checking whether your chosen look has applied.

Restore a missing owned cosmetic on Steam

Konami marked the Steam DLC unlock issue affecting Pre-purchase and Deluxe Edition owners as resolved and provided an online restart procedure. If you own the missing extra, follow that procedure and check its download below. First make sure the item belongs to your purchase, especially when comparing Deluxe clothing with pre-order CRTV bonuses.

  1. Exit Silent Hill: Townfall to begin Konami’s recovery procedure for the affected Steam DLC unlock issue.
  2. Ensure you are connected to the internet, as required by the recovery instructions for affected owners.
  3. Restart the Steam app while online to complete the restart procedure described in Konami’s notice.
  4. Open the game’s Properties > DLC page from your Steam Library to inspect the downloadable items attached to your purchase.
  5. Make sure every owned cosmetic is ticked in the DLC list so your download check includes the missing extra.
  6. Let the owned cosmetic finish downloading so it can appear in the game’s cosmetic selection menus.
  7. Reopen Options > Game Options during your playthrough to return to the cosmetic choices after completing the download check.
07

Check owned downloads on PlayStation and Epic

  • On PS5, highlight the game on the home screen, press the Options button and choose Manage Game Content. Make sure each owned cosmetic add-on is installed before returning to the cosmetic menu.
  • On the Epic Games Store, check the game’s add-ons in your library and install any owned cosmetic listed there. Beach Edition is exclusive to PlayStation 5, so its absence on Epic does not indicate a missing download.
08

If the owned extra still does not appear

Contact the store you bought the game from if the edition, platform, download, and applicable restart checks leave your owned cosmetic missing. Include the exact cosmetic name and the edition shown on your purchase. Explain which checks you completed so the store can help with the missing entitlement.
